Spirit of the Marathon is an amazing film that follows the lives of six runners preparing for and undertaking the Chicago Marathon. Filmed on four different continents, the movie brings together a cast of both amateur and professional runners.
The Los Angeles Times said of the film, “Even if you’ve never run for anything but a bus, you’ll likely get swept up in this movie’s inspiring journey of physical endurance and personal achievement”. (Click here to see the trailer on YouTube).
I’ve yet to see it, but it sounds amazing and the best bit is that it is coming to New Zealand. There are a number of screenings across the country but there will be some very special event screenings for SPIRIT OF THE MARATHON at the Bridgeway Cinema in Northcote.
AUCKLAND, Thursday 19th March, 8.00pm at Bridgeway Cinema
With special guests, filmmakers Jon Dunham and Melissa Leggett, and running legends Kathrine Switzer and Roger Robinson
AUCKLAND, Sunday 22nd March, 8.00pm at Bridgeway Cinema
With special guest Kerre Woodham (that’s me) who will be there “sans-lycra” to host the screening
(Click here to visit the film’s website)

See you there!
I got this DVD out last night after reading your blurb. It’s a great motivating movie…..so much so, I’ve signed up to do the Buller marathon in February!
